Looking For A Husband Is Like Looking For A Job!! Silly Post, Arab Culture

This is a funny post, and I just want to make it clear that this post  is not based on Muslim culture but rather Arab culture.
You look for  a husband the same way you look for a job! LOL (Joke, Arabs don't really do this)

Looking For A Husband Is Like Looking For Job!
Someone recommends the husband (I mean job ofcourse)
You submit your resume to the husband (I mean the employer)
You do some google searching, you find his FB page and LinkedIn
You decided you want an interview with your husband ( I mean the manager of the job)
You get ready for the interview... you dress your best ofcourse!

You try to make a good first impression on your husband ( I mean future boss!)
You ask your husband (I mean employer!) questions to determine if this is the man for you (I mean if this is the job for you of course!)
You discuss the possible mahr amount ( I mean salary!)
Then you wait patiently for a response from the husband ( I mean an email from the company)
Good news, you are getting married ( I mean you got the job!)
Or
You don't get a call back and you search for the next possible husband ( I mean job opportunity!)

Dr.Islam Elfahymoui, Parents!!!

This weeks lecture was about an ayah in the Quran, and apart of the focus was about parents, veryyyyyy important lecture!

Here is what he said:

Work your whole life trying to be good towards your parents

In this aya 36 of Surat Nisa, Allah uses the term "ihsan" which means excellency, perfection, more than what is expected or deserved.

"Worship Allah and associate nothing with Him, and to parents do good,"

4:36

Allah tells you, that your parents deserve excellent character

Your parents deserve to be treated the best, even better than everyone you meet

Its not optional to be excellent to your parents, you have to!

No one is more deserving of your care, support, excellent character, then your mother.

Who is your #1? Mom, now who is your #2? Dad? Nope, your mom is your #1,2, and 3
(Prophets hadith about your mother, your mother, your mother, then your father)

How many of us have not done this? Its not easy to be excellent to your mom, especially if she is mean to you or doesn't listen to you.

Who is commanding you to be excellent to your mom? Allah is commanding you, so you must treat everyone well even if they treat you bad because you believe in Allah.

It takes lots of efforts to do good when someone is not good to you , but you do this for the sake of Allah.

ElFahymoui Lecture Notes! Finally, Sakinah Peace !

After a veryyyyy longgg summer of no Dr. Islam Elfahymoui weekly lectures, with no prior intention of attending the lecture, I finally went back to the class that brings a sense of peace, sakinah, and raha upon the heart one cannot find when going out  to the mall or going to school or work.
It is a type of peace that one only finds within the Mosque, subhanAllah.

My journey towards the knowledge, this source of light starts as soon as I leave my house towards Allahs House. As soon as you know why you are travelling, why you are leaving your home all alone, where your destination is, you begin to feel that sakinah dwell upon your heart. You know you are not alone but rather in the company of the angels and  Allah .  Everything around you becomes beautified and peaceful...even the sunset and the birds flying together, you pay attention to this and you forget about the annoying drivers around you !

When you arrive, and you realize the topic is about something you really needed to hear, this only puts you into more peace, and you can only thank Allah for this amazing blessing of allowing you to be there, in His House, to listen to someone talk about how to properly make salat.

Your heart recognizes this familiar place, its at  peace, you remember you are in
Dar Ul Salaam: The House of Peace

The topic that I missed for the past couple of weeks was one I wish I did not miss, but alhumdAllah.

Dr.Islam was concluding his 6 week lecture on salat, he spoke of the 12 pillars of salat, and he keept mentioning how "Sakinah" is a pillar that is apart of your whole salat. The sakinah theme fit in so well with the sakina I felt alhumdAllah.

Dr. Islam mentioned a hadith (but I cant find the exact words, so I apologize)

The Prophet said about the prayer: bow in salat unti you are in sakinah (peacefulness, calmness).

Then stand up until you are in sakinah

Then make sujud until you are in sakinah

Then when you sit up (in between the two sujuds) be in sakinah also

Do that until you complete your prayer

Dr. Islam concluded the class with showing us how to pray, everything slowly, calmly in sakinah....just as I left my home that day in sakinah towards the Dar Al Salaam AlhumdAllah

Surat Luqman, Final Aya, Questions You Cant Answer

Surat Luqman was just recited on radioquraan.com

I remembered the final ayah in this surah that my Quran teacher once brought to our attention, it shows you how much Allah knows and how much we don't know:
Do we know when the Hour is? Do we know what is in the wombs (before the "ultrasounds!")? Do we know anything of tomorrow guaranteed? And do we know where we will die?

31:34

Indeed, Allah alone  has knowledge of the Hour and sends down the rain and knows what is in the wombs. And no soul perceives what it will earn tomorrow, and no soul perceives in what land it will die. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted.

Surat Al Rum, "And of His Signs"

Surat Al Rum is currently recited on radioquraan.com

 http://quran.com/30

I noticed Allah starts a lot of the ayahs  in this Surah with :

"And  of His signs"

Read these ayahs about His Ayat, and reflect deeply upon these signs described in these ayahs, it will make you say subhanAllah:

30:17

So exalted is Allah when you reach the evening and when you reach the morning.
30:18
30:18

And to Him is [due all] praise throughout the heavens and the earth. And [exalted is He] at night and when you are at noon.

Some of the ayahs about "His Signs":

30:23
And of His signs is your sleep by night and day and your seeking of His bounty. Indeed in that are signs for a people who listen.
30:24
30:24

And of His signs is [that] He shows you the lightening [causing] fear and aspiration, and He sends down rain from the sky by which He brings to life the earth after its lifelessness. Indeed in that are signs for a people who use reason.

Allahs Signs

SubhanAllah its amazing when you truly remember Allah with your heart (yes sometimes we forget astfurAllah)and you know Allah is with you and then you quickly see that He is sending His signs upon you. I was complaining about something and hours later I read messages from a famous speakers addressing the complaint.

“Good reminders usually hit you in the heart as if they were meant for you, as if Allah-God just sent you a private message to awaken your heart”

I also love when I randomly decide to go from Youtube and music to  RadioQuraan.com and the ayahs being recited are so amazing and relevant. Its been a while since I tuned into RadioQuran, and right now its Surat Yasin with my favorite qari on this site (I always try to get his name but cant find it!) I am thinking of the tafsir class I took and what the ayas mean, beautiful.

The concluding ayah of Surat Yasin...WOW subhanAllah!

36:83

So exalted is He in whose hand is the realm of all things, and to Him you will be returned.
