Seek Allah, Find Signs, Hope After Fear

SubhanAllah when you seek Allah with your heart and you have hope in Him, you always find the resources and help you need presented right in front of you moments later.

I was in search of a feeling of "al amnah" safety, a feeling of I should not be worried of anything in this dunya as long as Allah is with me. I was thinking about the ayah of how Allah is closer to you then your juglar vein. This is enough to make you think Allah is with me, I am strong.

During my visit today to the Masjid for  meetings, my favorite Sheikh recited one of my favorite Surahs during salat al isha. It has been a while since I prayed isha at the mosque and he recited one of my favorite surahs, Surat Al Hadid which had ayas I needed to hear.
I also rembered Ramadan and the beautiful late night tarawehh prayers that bring you sooooo much peace !! Ya Allah!!!

He began reciting from ayah 16, but the ayahs before it contain the concept of "nour" and how on the Day of Judgement some people will have nour. I always try to imagine how it would be to be of those people who have nour on the Day of Judgement. I always wonder if you can attain this state of "nour" on the earth.

57:12

On the Day you see the believing men and believing women, their light proceeding before them and on their right, [it will be said], "Your good tidings today are [of] gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein you will abide eternally." That is what is the great attainment. Aya 12

The ayah after this is about the ones who wont have nour !

57:13

On the [same] Day the hypocrite men and hypocrite women will say to those who believed, "Wait for us that we may acquire some of your light." It will be said, "Go back behind you and seek light." And a wall will be placed between them with a door, its interior containing mercy, but on the outside of it is torment.(aya 13).

Then there is the ayas where the Sheikh began to recite: aya 16

57:16

Has the time not come for those who have believed that their hearts should become humbly submissive at the remembrance of Allah and what has come down of the truth? And let them not be like those who were given the Scripture before, and a long period passed over them, so their hearts hardened; and many of them are defiantly disobedient" (Aya 16)

following ayah:

When he was reciting this ayah I thought of the conversation I had with one of my co workers who was telling me how he loves Islam and he wanted to convert but his wife did not want him to. He grew up in the country of Cameron which has alot of Muslims and he said he loved how when it came to prayer they would stop everything just to pray, and the calm feeling one gets when they connect with God.
This ayah reminded me of our conversation because sometimes unintentionally we kind of forget about the remembrance of Allah. Look up the words "Remember Allah" in the Quran index and see how many ayas come up. Allah is constantly reminding us to remember Him. When we remember Him our hearts are at rest and this is what my co worker was trying to tell me. SubhanAllah how you can learn from a non Muslim! Please make duaa for him inshAllah.

Ayah 20 was about "hayat al dunya" (I love this term!)

57:20

"Know that the life of this world is but amusement and diversion and adornment and boasting to one another and competition in increase of wealth and children - like the example of a rain whose [resulting] plant growth pleases the tillers; then it dries and you see it turned yellow; then it becomes [scattered] debris. And in the Hereafter is severe punishment and forgiveness from Allah and approval. And what is the worldly life except the enjoyment of delusion" (Aya 20).

A good lecture which gave me a better understanding of this ayah was a Mustfah Hosny short 4 min lecture I heard (cant find it).

Its amazing how this ayah describes our state so much....the word "competition: watafakhurunbaynakum".  Are we competing for who has a better job or better car or are we competing for who is racing to Jannah....

The ayah after this one starts with the word "race"

This is what we should competing and racing to :

57:21
"Race toward forgiveness from your Lord and a Garden whose width is like the width of the heavens and earth, prepared for those who believed in Allah and His messengers. That is the bounty of Allah which He gives to whom He wills, and Allah is the possessor of great bounty" (Ayah 21)

This ayahs descirption of width is amazing !

Then I heard the following ayahs about situations we perceive as negative. This ayah really hit my heart as I really needed that reminder....the reminder that:
57:22

No disaster strikes upon the earth or among yourselves except that it is in a register before We bring it into being    indeed that, for Allah , is easy

And that I shouldnt be sad for these matters which are all apart of "hayat al dunya" but at the same time I shouldnt get to excited or show off about the good I have ...just be moderate ...love this!!

57:23

"In order that you may not be sad over matters that you fail to get, nor rejoice because of that which has been given to you. And Allah does not like everyone self deluded and boastful" (Aya 23)

Seek Allah and you will find a million signs in front of you...what a beautiful feeling from "fear" to "al amanah" safety! All because of a trip to the masjid<3

Summer,Sunsets,SubhnAllah, Owner of Beauty

3:191
"Those who remember Allah standing and sitting and lying on their sides and reflect on the creation of the heavens and the earth: Our Lord, You did not create this aimlessly; exalted are You above such a thing: then protect us from the punishment of the Fire"

In the summer, the sunsest moves directly in front of our window...we live on a hill so its a beautiful sight alhumdAllah.  I also go to the park more often and there is this beautiful lake there.

The sunset and the lake I go to look different every  hour subhanAllah...
In a matter of 3 hours the sun goes from a huge bulk of light to a huge circle,
and then it slowly shrinks.
The lake has a reflection of the tress on one side, and clouds on another and
a sunset reflection an hour later
 (photos on this post)

I  think of the aya  about contemplation and how Allah did not create all of this for nothing.

These sights are not just for us to use as backgrounds in our photos but rather they are there for us to reflect, ponder, and contemplate.

You think that lake, tree, or sunset is beautiful ...what about the One Who created the Beauty, the Most Beautiful. The Owner of Beauty

Oh and all of these beautiful things are making tasbih, as you say subhanAllah when you see them!! Seriously,
SubhanAllah!

64:1

"Whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is on the earth glorifies Allah"

Gifts From Allah: Parents, Graduation, 21st Birthday

"And as for the Blessing of your Lord, Speak"
I love this blog, I get to look back at it and see what I have achieved throughout the years...alhumdAllah I turned 21 on May 20th, 2013.
People always look for gifts from people whether its for graduations, or birthdays but we forget to acknowledge the millions of gifts Allah has bestowed upon us.
Today I realized I am so used to acknolweding the more "exciting" moments in life, but I forget to acknolwedge the improtant people in my life such as my parents....although they dont read this blog, I hope they always love and forgive me. I feel like we forget about this blessing of parents....parents! If there was one thing alongside khusho I would need to work on it is the need to work on those described in the ayas in the Quran when it comes to parents. Oh mama, oh baba forgive me....<3
After my graduation I started the following post, and now I want to post it:
On Tuesday May 14th was my undergraduate ceremony, I keept thinking to myself subhanAllah what a blessing to be here to receive a college degree! AlhumdAllah we dont realize how amazing the blessing of knowledge is. It is a honor to be a student of knowledge

I was also blessed to begin my Masters Degree this semester and again alhumdAllah I am sooooo thankful for the amazing people I have been around this semester.
I remeber when I was choosing a graduate school I came across my current school and I thought to myself wow they have a reallllly cool MSA that actually has lectures and events and pretty prayer room...I choose my school because of its MSA and it has been a blessing I cant thank Allah enough for allowing me to be in this envoriment surrounded with people who love the deen.

14:7

"And (remember) when your Lord proclaimed: "If you give thanks (by accepting Faith and worshipping none but Allah), I will give you more (of My Blessings), but if you are thankless (i.e. disbelievers), verily! My Punishment is indeed severe." 14:7

Dr.Islam ElFahymoui: Tawbah Contd

Dr.Islam ElFahymoui is continuing his lecture on the topic of tawbah
Here is what he said:

Knowledge then acknowledge

If your eman is in mid level you make tawbah because your fear will be losing in this dunya, and a fear of the punishment of hell fire

If your eman is high your main concern is seeking Allahs love. Your ultimate goal: seek and achieve the love of Allah

Allah grants tawbah because He is AlTawaab

One of the most important names of Allah that He wants to everyone to know is Al Tawab. What is the evidence?
When Adam sinned in Jannah, he was running, running in Jannah...Adam keept running until Allah sent him the words: "Make Tawbaah"

The angels will never understand the deep concept of Allahs name Al Tawaab. Allah will tell you come to Me and I will forgive you. The human being will forgive you once, twice, but Allah is the Al Hilm: The Most Fore bearing. He will wait for you to come repent.

Noboday can tell you Allah will only forgive you once, Allah will forgive countless times <3

If you do something bad, make tawabah right after, its a cycle: you make mistakes fix it, make mistakes fix it.

Did the Prophet make tawbaah?

Yes, of course, he was the one who repented more then anyone even though he did not sin

Prophet said: "Oh people seek forgiveness from Allah for I make tawbaah to Allah 100 times everyday"

All does not want you to make tawbaah once every 3 years, rather Allah wants you to make tawbaah every day.

How do we make tawbah?

In Surat Al Tahrim, aya 8, Allah describes tawbaah as a "nasiha" in arabic this word comes from the word meaning: advising. It also means complete, sincere:

66:8

O you who have believed, repent to Allah with sincere repentance. Perhaps your Lord will remove from you your misdeeds and admit you into gardens beneath which rivers flow  on the Day when Allah will not disgrace the Prophet and those who believed with him. Their light will proceed before them and on their right; they will say, "Our Lord, perfect for us our light and forgive us. Indeed, You are over all things competent."

Why does Allah describe tawbah as a "nasiha" advisement:

The scholars say a complete tawbah means you cannot say "Oh Allah I will stop stealing except from this person" Complete means there are no exceptions

You may make tawabh and make a mistake again, but at that moment of making tawbah your intention must be a complete tawbah

During an advising tawbah you make a moment of it: if you try to make the same sin again, that tawbah you made will remind you to not make the sin again. This is a tawabah filled with tears and queit time.

When you make sincere tawbah you felt that this tawabh is advising.

The deepness and sincerity in your tawabah becomes that moment in life that will remind you when you go to the sin again. Tawbah is a high level of forgiveness. It is a strong intention to sincerely repent.

6 Rules of Tawbah : Requires some quiet time

1. Ikhlas: sincerity:
You cannot make tawbah to prevent harm. You make tawbah because you seek Allahs forgiveness

Tawabah is only for Allah, unless you should share glad tidings (to encourage other Muslims to make tawabh) but dont mention your sin.

2. Naadeem: regret, remorse:

You have to really regret your sin

3. Yaqyn Bkbul Allah: certainity that Allah has accepted your tawbaah

Have hope that your tawbah for that sin is accepted.

You have to know sincerly that Allah has accpeted your tawbah so that Allah can accept your tawbah:Isnt that so beautiful!?

If you truly beleive Allah has accepted your tawabah, then Allah has accepted your tawbaah

4. Iklaa, Removal:

Feel and know that you will not return to this sin

Make tawabah twice a day to catch most of your sins

5. I will take real steps towards keeping away from the sin

ex: i quit drinking, so I tell my friends who drink that I cant hang out with them anymore

"waqfat al azum: a moment of strength"

6.  Return that which you owe to others. Seek peoples forgiveness
ex: you stole so you return the item to the person

Backbit ting: If you go to your bro or sis and you want to tell them the bad you spoke about them, make sure the person wont get mad which would leave to a divsion in the umah. If it is going to cause a probelm then just make duaa to Allah, make duaa that Allah blesses them. Be extra good to them.

Etiquette:
1. Be alone with Allah in your heart...you can be in the mosque surroned with people but you are really remembering Allah in your heart
2. Make duaa to Allah, His beautiful names, His blessings upon you
3. Make your intention for the sake of Allah
4. I will no do this sin again: shytan comes to trick you and make you think you will fail and that your tawbah is useless. Tawbah is not simple. It requires work and effort

Sources I Dont Know: Allah is Al Razaq

I finally came across the ayah with the duaa I love!!!
The duaa: "Alhuma irazqkni min hatho la ahtasab"
Oh Allah grant me from rizq (like wealth, etc) from sources I dont know of!"

When you recite this duaa and then you find what you needed right in front of, think of this beautiful duaa, this beautiful aya, and Allahs beautiful name: Al Razaq

65:3

And will provide for him from sources  he does not expect. And whoever relies upon Allah - then He is sufficient for him. For Allah will surely accomplish his purpose: verily, for all things has Allah appointed a due proportion.   3

Beautiful Aya: Jannah!

Everytime I hear this ayah in Surat Al Waqiah (esepcially  on radioquraan.com) I just think of how amazing it would be to of those described within this ayah....
Its so simple but soothing, and it sounds beautiful in Arabic!

56:89

Then  for him is  rest and bounty and a garden of pleasure. 56:89

Then (there will be) relief, and soothing comfort, and a Garden of Bliss;

Dr.Islam Elfahymoui Notes: Tawaba Contunied

Dr.Islam ElFahymoui Notes

Todays lecture was a continuation of the topic tawaba

He said:

The first time you try to make a sin, Allah will place a roadblock

Try and count your sins...you can never count all of them
Sunnah of the companions: right before going to sleep they would think of all of their sins and ask Allah for forgivness

The Mercy of Allah:

39:53

do not despair of the mercy of Allah . Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful."Surat Az Zumar 53

This aya tells us that Allah forgives any kind of sin (except shirk as mentioned in another aya) do not be of those who think Allah will not forgive you. Allah forgives all sins

Tawabah is a higher level then just saying astghfurAllah

Allah will go the extra mile for you if you make tawabah

People think oh I will make tawabh after I sin but the sin itself will make you forget about tawbah

Allah gives you the gift of tawbah

Give thanks to Allah for giving you the chance to make tawabah

I want you to remeber this beautiful concept:
The scholars said: One of Allahs names is Al Tawaab...The One Who grants repentance.  When you sit down and say oh Allah will never forgive me, I am bad there is no hope, the scholars said this means you dont believe in Allahs name Al Tawaab.
You should say: "Ya Tawaab, you love to grant tawabaah, you are Al Tawab.

Contemplate upon this hadith:
Imagine you are in the middle of a desert, no food no water nothing. What if I put you there with nothing you would die. There is a man walking in the desert and he has his camel who is well stocked with food and water. The man went to sleep and then when he woke up he did not find his camel, he started looking and looking and he did not find the camel. He felt so lost and he knew he was going to die. So he went to sleep and then when he woke up and the camel was right there, he was soooo joyful and thankful. Allah is more joyful with tawabah from His servants then the man in this story. Allah does not love anything more then for His servnat to return to Him and to make tawbaah.

If you are able to pray the night prayer it means you are close to Allah and your forgiveness tawbaah was accepted. Tawabaah is a huge gift from Allah...

Next week we will speak about the steps of tawabaah.

Rain,Beauty, Think Of The Rivers In Jannah Flowin Under Your Feet!!

Sunset from home
Today while I was taking a nap, I got up because I suddenly heard thunder...I thought of Surat Ar Rad and the duaa for when it thunders...
Then it started raining really hard and loud it was such a peaceful sound subhanAllah!!
I thought of the aya that is repeated multiple times in the Quran about rivers which flow in Paradise <3. These ayahs always helps me imagine Jannah...close your eyes and imagine yourself in Jannah with rivers flowing under you !!!
The next time it rains very hard, think of this aya, think of Jannah and rivers flowing under your feet, think of the blessing of the rain after the storm and then the sun that shines right after
subhanAllah subhanAllah!!!
Some of the ayahs:
14:23
And those who believed and did righteous deeds will be admitted to gardens beneath which rivers flow, abiding eternally therein by permission of their Lord; and their greeting therein will be, "Peace!" 14:23
3:136
Those - their reward is forgiveness from their Lord and gardens beneath which rivers flow [in Paradise], wherein they will abide eternally; and excellent is the reward of the [righteous] workers. 3:136
