الأمل في الله مصطفى حسني

During the Love Notes class, after hearing of all of the issues on why people are not married within our community (I will post notes inshAllah) and  I said " I lost hope" in regards to getting married as a joke, but now that I think of it, even if I lose hope in marriage because my community  I should never lose hope in Allah because subhanAllah when you put your full trust in Allah He "Provides from sources you don't know of"  He is the One who promisses that " Whoever does righteousness, whether male or female, while he is a believer  We will surely cause him to live a good life"

SubhanAllah I decided to listen to a Mustfah Hosny lecture and guess what one of his newest video is about " Amal in Allah" Amal means hope in Arabic!

Heres some of what he said I LOVE IT, I will try to post the rest of this lecture.  Please share with anyone who has lost hope for anything because this lecture reminds us of the One Who we should never lose amal in! Ya Allah!

على طريق الله 2 - الحلقة 11 - الأمل في الله - مصطفى حسني

Mustfah Hosny said:

A lot of times we go through times that have tests, hardships,  and people cut from us and only Allah remains. And if the person has hope in Allah, this person will love in peace, sakina, and reassurance.

A lot of times good deeds come to you, you want to have hope that Allah will be pleased with your good deeds. Good deeds that will bring you enjoyment in this life and reward in the next.

A lot of times a person will be weak in front of bad deeds, but still has hope that Allah will save them and make them strong against al nafs al amara ba il su. And we have no hope except in Allah the One who is the Rab Al Alamin,  and Qadr over everything.

Allah wants us to have full hope in Him, and that we never lose hope

We learn from our scholars that we must put all of our amal in Allah and that we complain of all of our worries to Him, and we place full trust in Allah, and He will never leave us because He is Al Wakeel, Al Kareem, Al Wahab

Let us talk about how the Prophets whole life was filled with amal in Allah, and how the salaheen good people never broke down in the dunay because of their amal in Allah.

Look at Surat Al Naml Allah is telling you about everything He created, Who other then Allah can do all this, who other other then Allah will you ask help for?

27:59
Say, [O Muhammad], "Praise be to Allah , and peace upon His servants whom He has chosen. Is Allah better or what they associate with Him?"

27:60

More precisely, is He  not best who created the heavens and the earth and sent down for you rain from the sky, causing to grow thereby gardens of joyful beauty which you could not otherwise have grown the trees thereof? Is there a deity with Allah ?  No, but they are a people who ascribe equals to Him.

Look what Allah is saying in these ayas, He provides you with so much,  if Allah provides for the earth, the rain, the sky, the animals, then who is He going to provide for us? So if someone wants something let them say "Ya Rab", make duaa and have tawkul in your heart full trust in Allah,

Then Allah says in the Surah:

27:61

Is He  not best  who made the earth a stable ground and placed within it rivers and made for it firmly set mountains and placed between the two seas a barrier? Is there a deity with Allah ?  No, but most of them do not know.

Its as if Allah is saying look at the creation of Allah, the earth, the mountains, the seas, all of this, just say Ya Rab , the One Who  sends the rain down so the plants can grow, would He not provide for the One who prays and makes sujud?

Then Allah says:

27:62

Is He  not best who responds to the desperate one when he calls  Him and removes evil and makes you inheritors of the earth? Is there a deity with Allah ? Little do you remember.

Look at these ayahs first Allah talks about everything He Gives and Provides, then He mentions all of His creations such as the earth, the mountains, the skies, the rain, then He said " Will I not respond to the One who makes duaa?"  Not many of us remember, because we forget to have amal!

Rabna yarabne on this amal.
Sometimes the door of the people might close but Allahs door never closes. This is why the Prophet taught us that the feelings of amal used to come to him when he was going through very hard times.

Imagine the Prophet going to a place where young and old were hitting him as he was leaving the city of taif, and the mountains were saying to him if you want we can crush these people, but the Prophet said " No don't crush them , as Allah might bring from them people who will worship Allah"  The Arabic word this hadith begins with is "asa" which is a word of amal.

Allah remembers us even if we don't remember Him, and the Prophet is waiting for all of the nations who used to say the shahada, he will welcome them with their sins, and wrongdoings, and their hasant, and he will be holding for them all a surprise,  a huge amal,  the Prophet said " For every Prophet, there is a duaa that is answered, and I delayed my duaa for the Day of Judgement for my whole ummah"

The Prophet has amal  that all of the people will go to Jannah and this is the amal of the Prophet.
Through the Baraka of the Prophets amal people will go to Jannah, the Prophets amal will allow people to go from Hell to Jannah.

He could have made these duaas in the dunya, but he saved them for us on the Day of Judgement.

Allah says, " And place your trust on the All Living (Al Hay) the One who does not Die
(Al lathe la yamot)"
The scholars said why does Allah say "Hay la ya mayot"?  Because if Allah never dies we can always place our trust on Him.

When you don't have trust with Allah you live a hard dark life , and the shytan will always throw ideas in your head that Allah will not make you succeed or help you  or grant you good deeds, you saw how you helped so much people and they don't even look at you , oh this and that, and then the amal of the person begins to leave.

So let us listen today , Allah tells us if you do a good deed then have amal! Have amal that Allah will accept your deeds, don't listen to the person who tells you Allah is not going to accept your prayer or fasting.

Effortless Dawaa Hijab, Everyone Loves The Hijab

Dawah is toooooo easy with hijab, its like you don't even have to try and people are coming to you asking youuuuuu about yourrrrr hijab.
Its sooooooo cool when a non Muslim loves your hijab!
I had three hijab moments at work this week.

One of my students from last semester came to me for advising for this semester, and she told me how she loves the hijab and she wants to try it. I promised her I would get her one! This is exciting, everytime a non Muslim talks to me about the hijab I am wearing I just love my hijab even more.

I was wearing one of my nice hijabs with a nice matching sweater and my co worker stopped me to tell me how she loves the way I dress and how I match my hijab with my outfits.

I was in the bathroom on a different floor at work to make wudu because its hard to make wudu in the bathroom with lots of people, so then I had my hijab off thinking no one really comes to this bathroom. Someone walked in and then I quickly put the hijab back on, when she saw me putting back on she started to tell me how I have beautiful hair (despite the fact that I thought my hair looked messy) and why I would cover it, this actually happened a couple of times when I showed my co workers pictures without hijab, they are just like whyyyy would you cover! Anyways  this lead to a 15 minute conversation about hijab, and how I love hijab and why I wear hijab.

Bright Faces, Light Faces, Beautiful

I love this ayah, such a beautiful scene!

Sometimes people describe other people in this dunya as those of whom their faces are filled with light, subhanAllah I always wonder how true this concept is! I think the most beautiful people are those who have this light to them and it is a light that is usually reflective of their beautiful eman  character, and huge smiles.

This is a beautiful duaa  for light that we are encouraged to read when going to the Mosque,

Dua in Arabic

‘O Allaah, place within my heart light, and upon my tongue light, and within my ears light, and within my eyes light, and place behind me light and in front of me light and above me light and beneath me light. O Allaah, bestow upon me light.’

Love Notes, Al Maghrib Notes, Love is A Sign, Surat Ar Rum

Today was the first day of the Al Maghrib Class "Love Notes" Sheikh Yasir.

Before I began this post I didn't even realize the amazing lesson I just took from this ayah Sheikh Yasir mentioned, subhanAllah.
Aside from all of the talk about marriage, love, and etc within the class, my favorite part of the class was something that is not usually mentioned when this ayah is quoted.

Everyone has probably heard the following ayah from Surat Ar Rum, 31:

30:21
And of His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find peace  in them; and He placed between you affection and mercy. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought.
Sheikh Yasir said when you go home, look up the whole surah and read the ayahs before and after this aya http://quran.com/30/18-24.
In these other ayahs Allah talks about His Signs such as "lightening  ,   rain from the sky, sleep , the creation of the heavens and the earth  , diversity of your languages,   brings to life the earth after its lifelessness,   created you from dust" and much more (please read the ayat!)
This part was amazing to me because I love learning about Allahs Signs and to see this concept of love, affection, mercy and the bringing together of husband and wife as a "Sign" to contemplate upon, this is how I hope to view my marriage inshAllah, as a miracle from Allah, as something to contemplate upon which leads you to remembrance of Allah, ya Allah

Even love must be contemplated upon, just as we contemplate upon the other amazing creations of Allah such as our own creation, the earth, the sky, the sunset. Love should make us say "subhanAllah" not just oooolalalaaa.

Its The Season, Trees, Leaves, SubhanAllah

I finally got to to go the State Park to enjoy the season!
New Jerseys known as the "Garden State", so go on a trip to see those beautiful trees subhanAllah.

Just thinking of what is said in one of the duaas sheikh Mishary says "And He knows how many leaves there are". We cant even count how many leaves are in one tree subhanAllah. This is again a reminder of His Infinite Knowledge, and how "He Knows that which you don't know".

Here are some pictures

A dream and a duaa, tools to success

"A dream and a duaa, tools to success"

I teach a class called "College Success Skills" and everytime I finish teaching I think to myself how I am not really teaching them the real tools to success.

I cant teach anything that has to do with religion within the class but subhanAllah religion provided me with the TOOLS to success.

AlhumdAllah thanks to Islam, I was never distracted with drugs, dating, drinking, rather I always had dreams and duaas in my life which keep tme going to where I am today alhumdAllah, its just takes a dream and duaa!!

Took A NonMuslim To Mosque, Showed Me Appreciation and Peace!

Today at my masjid there was a college fair for the school, and I decided to attend because I knew one of my former supervisors from my alumni college would be there since I used to work in Admissions! All of them know me very well and were my mentors so whoever I saw I knew would be good to see!

I went to the fair and I found my supervisor whom I consider as one of my mentors. I will always remember when I was about to graduate I gave him the Quran, his reaction was AMAZING, he was sooooooo thankful and excited, he said I didn't know I was allowed to read this, this is so cool!
AlhumdAllah!

Today he was at my masjid! You know how excited I was? After he was done with his work I told him I was going to give him a grand tour of the mosque.
MashAllah my mosque is huge, its 4 floors, we were on the top floor for the college fair, and under the main floor for the prayer area there was town hall meeting going on with the mayor and the community! MashAllah.

So I took him to the main floor where we pray, I told him he had to take off his shoes, he took them off, he said to me I never went into a mosque this is very exciting.

As we entered the Mosque which was a little empty, he just stood there and took a glance as if he was somewhere amazing, I couldn't help but think subhanAllah he is at peace! He didn't even walk around he just stood and stared around, and then he said how the mosque even smells really nice (it was the smell of insticts, and to be honest I never noticed that smell !). He was more peaceful and calm then most of us when we walk into the mosque. Its amazing how a non Muslim can teach you to appreciate your religion, to show you what peace looks like! SubhanAllah what an experience, alhumdAllah.

Missing The Beach, Enjoying The Fall!! SubhanAllah

I was sad that I wouldn't be able to enjoy the amazing beach, waves, sand, and sunset for a while as Fall came through, but subhanAllah the colors of the leaves are AMAZING subhanAllah!!! I live in the "Garden State" and so alhumdAllah there are trees all over. There is a dua where Shiekh Mishary says "And He knows the amount of leaves". Just thinking of this and thinking of counting the amount of leaves on one tree is a reminder of how Magnificent Allah is ya Allah!

The idea that the countless number of leaves, the countless gallons of water in the sea, the sun, the moon, the countless numbers of stars, all of these things we cant even count or sometimes see are repeating with us "SubhanAllah"

SUBHANALLAH
I actually learned this through Maher Zains song "SubhanAllah" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yZWqs-CGL-Y

I Like him! Marriage, Efforts, & Approaching him

How many times have you heard the following statement:

"I like him, but how do I tell him?!"
 (halal way-with marriage intention)
You like this amazing guy, or possibly just admire him, you see him everywhere you go, or maybe that one time at that event, and you notice he has everything your looking for, or thats what you thought, you want to tell him, but you cant, you want to start a conversation in a non-haram way, should you CC your dad in an email, add him on facebook, or should you tell his best friend, ? You really want to get your message across, but you dont know what to do.
What type of efforts should you put alongside with your duaa?
How do we approach marriage?
No one knows....because there is no one answer fits all for this type of situation..
All I know for now is that you can make some duaa, and Inshallah if Allah wants it He will make it happen, but at the same time I was taught that with duaa, you must put in effort.
I was taught by I.Elfahymoui that,
1.Pre-requisites to get the help of Allah you have to put effort first
2. Do everything in your power to get what you seek, if you prepare correctly you will get it.
3.If you want something good in this dunya then put forth towards it.
4.Istkhara is a form of tawkal, you dont pray it with doubts.
5.Tawkal is not the idea of giving up, it is a proactive attuide. It is the attuide of 'Il will go full esteem ahaed and I will not worry.Push forward all you have and if there are roadblocks dont worry. Allah opens up the way for those who have yaqn (Certanity).

So you cant just make duaa that Allah will get you married to this amazing guy, you have to put effort right? And you have to have tawkal (trust),yaqn(certanity) and make salaat istghara ?
So you want that amazing guy? You really want to marry him? Make tawkal, and go full-esteem ahead! But how? You want to keep it halal, you dont want to break the muhram rule!
http://hudawritess.blogspot.com/2012/03/protect-me-baba-guardian-rule.html

The question is in the siution of approaching marriage,
what type of halal efforts should we put in?

Im sure you have meet someone with the same question
I have heard of alot of stories about this whole "how do I approach him" kind of issue.
No doubt telling someone you like them is one of the most exciting but hardest things
to do and how do you do it without displeasing Allah?

There are so many stories  of Muslims goin through this journey to find thier spouse, there is no "one way" to find your spouse, there is no "one person" to go to if you are interested in him, there is no prescribed way on how to "put efforts".

The most you can do for now in the most halal way is make duaa.
