Al-Musawir: "Rabbana Ma Khalaqta Hatha Batilan Subhanaka"

Allah describes Himself as "Al-Musawir"-" The Bestower of forms"

When I read this name I thought of Allahs creation of the beautiful sunsets
I have been observing and taking pictures of throughout the summer..

"The Arabic word Musawwir comes from "sawara"
which means to make a picture of something or somebody"
-The Perfect 99 Names of Allah

Be like those descirbed in the Quran:

Reconginze Allah is Al-Musawwir of this beautiful dunya, witness His signs, Be of those of "understanding", remeber Allah everywhere, think "Deeply" about the creations of the heavens and the earth, and say the following duaa from the Quran:

(Descirptions taken from the following ayas)

"Rabbana ma khalaqta hatha batilan subhanakafaqina AAathaba annar"

"Our Lord! You have not created all this without purpose, glory to You! Give us salvation from the torment of the Fire" 3:191

3:190

Verily! In the creation of the heavens and the earth, and in the alternation of night and day, there are indeed signs for those of understanding- 3:190
3:191

Those who remember Allah always, and in prayers, standing, sitting, and lying down on their sides, and think deeply about the creation of the heavens and the earth, (saying): "Our Lord! You have not created (all) this without purpose, glory to You!
Give us salvation from the torment of the Fire" -3:191

Taqwa Beautifully Defined

I came across this beautiful defintion of the word taqwa. Before I share this lovely defintion, I want to remind you all of the aya about the purpose of fasting in Ramadan
which was to increase in "Taqwa"

"laAAallakumtattaqoon"

2:183

O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you that you may become righteous
Surat AlBaqrah 183 -

Now heres the beautiful definition of taqwa!

These are the seeds of Taqwa growing deep within our souls. Taqwa is oftentimes described as “God-consciousness,” but it is much deeper than that. We are beings whose only true sustenance comes from Allah (swt)—the closer we are to Him, the more directly we experience Him, the more sustenance we receive and the more we feel at home. Taqwa is when we are gifted with feeling and experiencing the presence of our Lord

As we gain Taqwa, we begin to see the world for how it truly is—the blessings and Mercy of Allah become joys and splendors for us, and the sins of the world become like thorns which we see and avoid. In fact, one of the Companions of the Prophet described Taqwa as akin to walking through a path filled with thorns while trying to leave your clothing unscathed.

This is the sweetness of our religion: because of our sacrifice and because of our devotion, we begin to feel absolute peace and tranquility through our submission to Allah (swt). Not only do we feel joy and felicity as a result of our prayers, we begin to crave worship and no longer feel toil or burden from it. The joy is infectious, and it emanates from our very being. Unless your heart is covered in darkness from sin or a seal from pure arrogance, simply being around a person who has strong Taqwa is a transformative and joyful experience. This is Ihsan (excellence), and it is beautifully summarized in Hadith Jibril.

Missin You Oh Ramadan...

Missin the feeling of alnafs almumtmna....
Missin the late nights at the mosque praying, taraweeh for 2 hours long.. 30 nights of listin to the my favorite shiekh recite my favorite book: the ultimate sound to my ears & my heart-The Holy Quran... Heavy tears runnin down my checks durin the witr duaa, cryin like a baby who is need of a diaper change. I thought of these tears as a cleanse for my sins and as a form of tazkiykah for my heart..

Oh Ramadan, you allowed me to understand the following aya as my heart rembered Allah <3

13:28

Those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism), and whose hearts find rest in the remembrance of Allah, Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest.
Surat Al-Rad Aya 28

....ohhhhh Ramadan, oh Allah, how I miss the feeling of
"Alnafs Almutmanh"- "The Peaceful Soul"

Surat Al Fajr : 27-28
89:27
To the righteous it will be said, "O reassured  soul (Alnafs Almutmah),

89:28
Return to your Lord, well-pleased and pleasing [to Him],

Ramadan may not come back for another 11months,
but I can always go back to Allah <3.

Late nights spent in the mosque, now im at home feeling lost and bored without any taraweeh to look ffwd to....
Feeling useless but I shouldnt be worried cuz Allah is always ready to have us come back, thats why
Allah created "tawbah" which means come back...

"Alhuma inaa atwuboo ilyk"- Oh Allah I return (tawb) to You!"
Oh Allah I ask you to bring me back the feeling of al-nafs almumthanh!

Ramadan Meanings

Tears In his Eyes, 27th Ramadan-www.facebook.com/RamadanPhotography

I never really understood why we fasted, as young kids we are always taught that it is "to feel like the poor" but there is no indication of this reason....

I want you all to read the following ayas about Ramadan from Surat AlBaqrah 2:183-187
Look for the common theme word "  laAAallakum" which means "so that you may"
From these ayas, I learned that
We fast to ------->become righteous
The end result of fasting is to ----->
Magnifiy Allah & Be thankful- Shukr (because Allah guided us)
We call upon Allah (Make Duaa) to ---->
Respond to Him, and to be rightly guided
We dont pass Allahs limits to ----->Become Righteous
Aya 183: laAAallakumtattaqoon
" O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you that you may become righteous"
Aya 185: walitukabbiroo AllahaAAala ma hadakum
walaAAallakum tashkuroon

Mustafa Hosny discuss this in his "Eid Video"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m19q7QYxYew
"The month of Ramadan (is the month) in which the Qur'an All-Supreme Reading) was sent down: a guidance to mankind, and supreme evidences of the guidance and the all-distinctive Criterion; So, whoever of you is present (Literally: witnesses the month) at the month, then he should fast it; and whoever is sick or on a journey, then a (fixed) number of other days. Allah wills for you ease, and He does not will difficulty for you (He wills) and that you should complete the (fixed) number. And magnify Allah (to say Takbir ,Allahu-Akbar) for having guided you, and that possibly you would thank (Him)"
Aya 186: laAAallahum yarshudoon
"And when My servants ask you, [O Muhammad], concerning Me - indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me. So let them respond to Me [by obedience] and believe in Me that they may be rightly guided."
Aya 187:laAAallahum yattaqoon
"It has been made permissible for you the night preceding fasting to go to your wives [for sexual relations]. They are clothing for you and you are clothing for them. Allah knows that you used to deceive yourselves, so He accepted your repentance and forgave you. So now, have relations with them and seek that which Allah has decreed for you. And eat and drink until the white thread of dawn becomes distinct to you from the black thread [of night]. Then complete the fast until the sunset. And do not have relations with them as long as you are staying for worship in the mosques. These are the limits [set by] Allah , so do not approach them. Thus does Allah make clear His ordinances to the people that they may become righteous."

Farewell Ramdan =/

As Shiekh Hassan starts reciting the final surahs in the Quran, as he makes the witr duaa with the words " Ikhir Ramadan"-"The end of Ramadan", as he recites the khitim al Quran, the hearts of the beleivers are shattered and filled with tears as they realize
the beloved vist of Ramadan has come to an end.

Our beloved vistor took away our hearts this month as it taught us how to become closer to Allah, as it made us spend long nights in sujud and ruku, as it mades us cry as we remeber Allah,
but always remeber Allah is always close even after Ramadan...

"and We are closer to him than [his] jugular vein" Surat Qaf: 16.

"O Ramadhaan! Be gentle, the tears of your lovers are pouring out. Their hearts are torn from the pain of your departure. Perhaps standing to bid you farewell will extinguish the burning fire of longing. Perhaps taking a moment to repent will mend everything that has been torn in fast. Perhaps one cut off from the procession of those whose fast has been accepted will be joined with them. Perhaps Perhaps one deserving to be punished in Hell will be liberated. Perhaps the mercy of the Lord will be granted to the sinner."
 -Ibn Rajab
Although Ramadan has left us, Allah never left you, and inshallah we will back for Ramadan next year...just like when someone vists you from overseas, you tell them
"Inshalllh tarohh wa trajaa bi salama"
Oh Ramadan, inshllah you go and come back peacefully.
This month allowed you to taste the sweetness of faith, and this month brought you closer to achiveing the "Nafs Al-mutmaa" The Soul At Peace"
Surat Al Fajr 28-29

89:27

To the righteous it will be said], "O reassured soul,

89:28
Return to your Lord, well-pleased and pleasing [to Him

Two Ramadan Lessons: Give & Dua For Others

Two Ramadan Lessons

Lesson 1: Give & Allah will double it

Lesson 2: Make duaa for your bro/sis and angels will make duaa for you

Lesson 1-Give and Allah Will Give Back Much More

Last year through group efforts we were able to sponsor an orphan so I asked everyone to donate this year so we can re-new this sponsorship and humdallah we not only got one orphan but 2!

All because of simple (or annoying for some) text messages. People donated all different amounts $10,20,100,160..etc..I think one thing that motivated them to donate was when I would send updates.
I sent an updated text with an amount around Tues, and two days later I found out  I received a scholarship . It wasnt enough to pay for my tuition so I went to plead for more, and guess what the number was doubled!
I  think this is an example of the following aya which I  sent with the first text message for the orphan drive...
2:245
Who is it that would loan Allah a goodly loan so He may multiply it for him many times over? And it is Allah who withholds and grants abundance, and to Him you will be returned.
If you beleive in the Quran, then believe in this aya and watch Allah increase you in this dunya and the next inshallah

Lesson #2 Make Duaa for Others The Angels Will Make The Same For You

I beleive Allah also gave me this scholarship because I made duaa for my friend to get a scholarship, and when she found it (it was also the sameeeee amount!!! SubhnaAllah!) I told her to keep making duaa for me and then I got my scholarship! HumdAllah!!!

The Prophet Said:
Whenever you make a supplication for another believer
and he is not present, an angel will say ‘and same to you.

Keep this amazing hadith in mind when you make duaa for someone!

Memorize AlFaitha!

Did you memorize Surat AlFaitha.....
in Sign Language?

Subhnallah watching this video and following the movements I can feel the ayas...sign language can be a benfit for those who hear!!

For example follow the aya
"Iyak nabdo waikya nastyn" and look how he signs it, it makes you feel like you need Allah

1:5

You (Alone) we worship, and you (Alone) we ask for help (for each and everything).

Watch when he signs the aya:

Make it your goal to  memorize it in ASL!

Ramadan Dont Leave =/

Even though we are only on the 17th of Ramadan,  I am already thinking about how much I am going to miss this month! Esp praying in the masjid which is truly a  relaxing feeling. I get jealous of the guys who are told to go make salat al fajr, and aisha in the Masjid and they dont take advantage of this! I want to goooo to the masjid for salatul fajr..maybe ill sneack out of the house lol..

I get so sad when its the last night of taraweeh, and the sheikh has to recite the duaa for khatim alQuran, its such a sad feeling subhanAllah. At that moment you realize how blessed the month is.

In this month you begin to feel how the nafs almutmaa  is supposed to feel...<3

Im going to miss listing to sheikh Hassan Salehs amazing recitation of the Quran!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SdWiQJSrInw
(this video quality doesnt even sound all that!)

Heres a better quality, but this video doesnt show the ayas Im talking about below

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CS4HXMmzAfY&feature=related

Esp when he recited these ays in the first part of Ramadan !! It wasnt until I understood this aya that I finally understood why we fast...we dont fast just "to feel like the hungry"but we fast so that
 "we may become righteous"

Surat Al Baqarah:

2:183
O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you that you may become righteous
2:184
Fasting for a limited number of days. So whoever among you is ill or on a journey  then an equal number of days [are to be made up]. And upon those who are able [to fast, but with hardship] - a ransom [as substitute] of feeding a poor person [each day]. And whoever volunteers excess - it is better for him. But to fast is best for you, if you only knew.
2:185
The month of Ramadhan is that in which was revealed the Qur'an, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion. So whoever sights [the new moon of] the month, let him fast it; and whoever is ill or on a journey - then an equal number of other days. Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship and [wants] for you to complete the period and to glorify Allah for that [to] which He has guided you; and perhaps you will be grateful.
2:186
And when My servants ask you, [O Muhammad], concerning Me - indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me. So let them respond to Me [by obedience] and believe in Me that they may be [rightly] guided.

On the last night of Taraweeh during the khatam alQuran duaa, the ussually scene of the Masjids across the world is  people eyes  filled with tears as they realize this blessed month is done :'(
