Jannah,Jannah,Jannah Tafsir Surat Rahman

 



Upon driving home from the final tafsir class, I randomly noticed this amazing view of a random river I never noticed on a road I always drive on. It was like a scene from Jannah of the rivers and trees that I just heard about in tafisr Surat Rahman . And we can only imagine how beautiful Jannah is!!!
 And then the sunset, I keep thinking of how it was 'peeling" as I learned in Surat Yasin.



 

In the AlMaghrib Tafisr class there was a section in Surat Al Rahman which had amazing descriptions of Jannah. Actually there was two sections that were about Jannah. There is a connection to the two sections. The first section is ayat 46 to 61 is about the "higher level of Jannah" which is given to the "Saqbouqn- those who competed fro Jannah. The second section is ayat which is about the lower level of Jannah. This post is about the first section, and inshAllah I hope to post my notes on the second Jannah.

 

 

Here are my notes in green text from that section (green is one of my favorite colors because in the Quran Allah says that the people of Jannah will wear "green silk".

 

 

 

Ayahs 46 to 71 : The Delight of Those Who Have Taqwa in Paradise

 

 

55:46

 

But for he who has feared the position of his Lord are two gardens 

 

This ayah contains "two gardens" because there is indication of two Jannahs...Both of those who feared Allah have Jannah, but there are different levels. The Jannah in these ayats is for the "sabqoun" those who use to compete, race, and rush to good deeds. (I actually posted a post with a Mustfah Hosny lecture where he talks about these two levels and he mentions alsaqboun:

"The scholars said there are two levels of the obedient Muslims both are of ahul Jannah and the salheen: There is "Ashaab Al Yamyn "People of the Right" and "Alsabokun" Those Who Race to Good"

Having  spreading  branches.

 

Afnan are branches but these are branches beyond, branches of Jannah

In both of them are two springs, flowing.

 

There is mention of "jannat" which means two. Although both have water in them you will see that this Jannah has "springs" which means there is lots of water, it is not as much as the "nadkhataan" mentioned in aya 66.

In both of them are of every fruit, two kinds.

 

There  is no mention of what fruits because there are so many kinds of fruits, while aya 68 there is a specific mention of what fruits there will be

They are  reclining on beds whose linings are of silk brocade, and the fruit of the two gardens is hanging low.

 

(One of my favorite parts!)

 

These chairs are so amazing Allah even describes the "inner lining".

The fruit are hanging low because you are in a very relaxed position

In them are women limiting  their  glances, untouched before them by man or jinni -

This is a description of the "hur alayn". The sheikh advised the men not to make jokes to their wives about the hur al ayn lol . Basically the women of this dunya are jealous of these hur al ayn! Hahaa

But the sheikh did not mention we shouldn't be mad about anything in the Quran and he quoted (I believe Aisha) when she said that unlike the hury al ayn, the Muslimahs had to work hard to become those of Paradise.

As if they were rubies and coral.

 

This aya is describing of hur al ayn

Is the reward for good  anything  but good?

 

This aya!! It is a rhetorical question. If you want "ihsna"good then do good.
