Over the past couple of months, one thing I have been talking to people about is this new trend of hijabi outfits of the day, or posting videos showing off their outfits but tagging them with tags like #hijabi #modesty but they don't represent this.
As a hijabi, you better look your best at work or in school, you better look clean because you are a walking dawa! But you dont need tons of makeup, tight clothes, or weird hijab styles in efforts of looking fashionable, but rather you need to be moderate, you need to be clean and presentable while following the rules of hijab, you need to be able to exhibit modesty.
Dont attract the eyes of man who is a fool and simply wants to admire you, but rather attract the eyes of the man who will remember Allah when he sees you to the point where he will want to marry you for this reason, not because you were looked good in that sexy hijab you got on or your face of makeup that can be washed off in minutes. Oh and if you are married, you and your husband are the fools for which husband would allow his wife to attract the eyes of other men? A fool wallah!

Ask any of those fashion bloggers to post pictures without makeup, it is hard. Because all of the sudden we get this Image that without the makeup they are not as beautiful.
Why cover your face in loads of makeup, when you can be covered in nour!
I remember a couple of months ago I had a veryyyyy interesting conversation with one of my non Muslim male co workers, I don't exact words but , he saw me wearing flip flips and I had my nails painted because I couldn't pray (first time in a very long time! but never again lol). He started asking me if Muslim women have to cover their toes, I said it depends on what you follow. He said men do get attracted to toes. He said that colored nails are also attracting. I honestly never thought a man can get attracted to your toes, and after that conversation I dont think I wore flip flops again lol.
Then he started asking me why some of our Muslim women students come in with lots of makeup, hair showing, and tight clothes. I told him the hijab is supposed to bring less attention to a womens beauty and spoke about modesty. He arted telling me the history of makeup and how makeup was created to enhance the womens beauty. Although he was simply talking, I was contemplating upon his words which made me think twice about modesty.
He makes me want to learn more of what men both Muslim and Non Muslim think of hijab, makeup, fashion etc. Looking forward to doing more interviews on this topic, will definitely share them with you all as soon as I start, possibly start at work this week inshAllah! If any of you have any brothers you can interview do it and share their answers. Show them pictures of hijabis without makeup and loose clothes, and then show them a hijabi fashion blogger see what they say.
