Somehow even though we are Americans we end up telling others about our root backgrounds, the famous question of 'Where are you from" always pops up, and none reply American, they answer with their parents background.In this way I believe we are immigrants! Immigrants are people who have roots in another country
This is what I wrote in reply to my "Stories of Immigrants" online class introductions...we were asked to define the word immigrant...
I always found it funny how in America I identify myself as a "Palestinian/Algerian" but when I go to Palestine, or Algeria, or any other country I identify myself as "American". I always found that interesting, definitely something I would bring up throughout the course
